Are you committing any of these 5 ServiceM8 Sins?

  1. Not adding a job description to the job card
  2. No job templates
  3. Not customising your quote and invoice email templates
  4. Not using job queues
  5. Not using the ServiceM8 inbox

If the answer is YES, then you need to stop!

Making sure you’re doing these 5 things will get you well on your way to improving the way you use ServiceM8 in your business.

1. Not adding a job description to the job card

This is important to make sure that you include all of the information that your team need to get the job done. Without adding a decent job description, you’ll be asked more questions and will spend more time communicating this outside of ServiceM8.

      2. No job templates

Job templates are a easy way to save time and create a repeatable process in your business. You can find examples of the kind of job templates I suggest if you’re in the plumbing and heating industry here. If you’re not a plumber, you can use these examples as an idea and apply your own industry equivalents for servicing and installation.

      3. Not customising your quote and invoice email templates

The out-of-the-box Standard Quote and Invoice email templates are rubbish!

Every single email template you use in ServiceM8 should be written with one simple goal in mind… for example, the single most important goal of the Standard Quote Template should be getting your lead to say YES! to your quote – so what do you need to tell them to make that more likely?

The sole goal of your Standard Invoice email template is to get paid fast – what information do they need to pay you as quickly and easily as possible?

Use the ServiceM8 AI ‘Generate’ feature to help you improve your quote and invoice email templates today.

      4. Not using job queues

ServiceM8 only has 4 job statuses, but your jobs go through a journey that’s much more involved – set up job queues to match the ‘stages’ of a job – eg Parts Required, Awaiting Customer, Certificate Needed etc.

      5. Not using the ServiceM8 inbox

Why make managing your incoming enquiries harder than it needs to be?! The ServiceM8 inbox allows you to forward emails into it so that you can create jobs or attach to existing jobs in ServiceM8 directly from those emails.

Take a look at your account today and see how many of these sins you’re committing and then put a plan in place to fix them.
