By measuring performance, you track the information necessary to better understand what must improve to meet your goals.
So start by brainstorming all the things that might influence the success of a job / getting a quote approved.
These factors could include
- Lead source – where did the customer hear about you?
- Did you send a ServiceM8 Proposal or a normal quote, or just an email?
- Are they an existing customer?
- Are they on your mailing list?
- Are they in your facebook group?
- Did the customer get a call from a sales agent?
- Did they get a visit?
So custom fields for these could be as simple as
- on mailing list (yes / no)
- lead source (facebook / email / word of mouth / existing customer)
- proposal sent (yes / no)
- etc
