If you’ve been using ServiceM8 automations for a while, you’ll have spotted that different automations go to different people on the job card.
This is really useful to know and understand, but I can’t find a definitive list anywhere on the ServiceM8 support site.
Here’s the definitive list of which automation goes to which recipient –

Key – 1 and 2 indicate which is the first recipient option checked for and which is the second option if it can’t see any contact details for the first.
Things to note!
SMS and emails are checked and sent separately
So if you want to send a booking reminder via SMS and email, but you only have a mobile number for your job contact, then the booking reminder SMS will be sent to the job contact and the booking reminder email will be sent to the billing contact (if you have an email address added for them)
Getting the addressee name right
Make sure that you update all of your automations to use the following fields:
First name {recipient_first}
Last name {recipient_last}
This will ensure that the name is correct whomever the email or SMS is sent to.
